Add your reviewDark - almost black robe. Slow to open in the glass with muted creme de cassis and stewed plum. A smooth entry, with quite warm dark fruit flavors. Medium, somewhat alcoholic finish but with nice soft tannins. All in all, a reasonable value - if a bit on the rustic side.
Los Cardos, Lujan de Cuyo: Opaque black plum hue, aromas of dark berries and herbs; flavor notes of stewed black cherries, tart red and black berries, and mocha across a medium palate of supple tannins.
I would rate it 86 points. Dry but a little edgy. Meaning the tannin and bitter notes come out a little too much. Nose is restrained but clean.
Big jammy fruit on the nose with some detectable alcohol that made the nose a bit hot. Fruit forward on the palate with potent acidity and very noticeable yet finely textured tannins. Even with the high levels of acidity and tannin the wine still maintains a somewhat soft texture. Paired reasonably well with a beef tenderloin filet.
Nice wine. Nose: lots of raspberries. spicy. Palate: more raspberry. great acid. Goes well with meat. Alc: 14%
Has a good strawberry flavor, nice summer sipper. Good value at around $9. I had it with buffalo chicken pizza.
