Dona Maria Antonia Ferreira Vallado Red Blend 2008

Winemaker's Notes:

my Denist brought this back for me from portugal,(i am his nurse) which is where he originally comes from! i have to say this is by far the best tasting red wine i have ever tried in my life!!. At 46 years of age, i have tried a few!! and it has nothing to do with the fact i lost the sell of my property today and i owe heaps of money in legal fees! this really is a delicious wine!. I don't think i will drink another bottle of moody red wine ever again!!, but then again after looking at my bank balance this is probably a lie!!. So i will take my time and enjoy!!

Ferreira Ruby has an intense and well defined ruby hue, showing the quality of the selected wines. Its intense aroma is reminiscent of very ripe fruit, fine-tuned through its careful ageing in wood as well as through the blending carried out during its natural ageing process. Full-bodied and rich, it has a fine balance between its sweetness and its tannin structure, giving it unique characteristics and a fine and attractive long finish. - Winery ** SOLD OUT **

"A Great Character" - Although Ferreira`s origins date back to the 18th century, it was the tough-minded determination of Dona Antonia Adelaide Ferreira that so effectively established this Port House`s reputation during the 19th century. Born in the `Comet Year` 1811, Dona Antonia belonged to the fourth generation of this distinguished Port-producing family, and can be credited with establishing the high standards that are the hallmark of Ferreira Ports. She devoted herself to providing Portugal not only with great wines, but also roads, hospitals, and schools. Dona Antonia remains a revered figure in the country even today, and is known as the "Grande Dame" of the Port industry. Dona Antonia Reserve is delicious when served with dried fruits, cheese, puddings and cool desserts.
