Don & Sons Pinot Noir 2010
Our 2010 Pinot Noir is mostly comprised of two di erent Sonoma Coast sub-appellations: The Petaluma Gap and Carneros. The wind and the fog are the Petaluma Gap's trademarks. The fruit from this cooler area adds depth and complexity to this medium-bodied Pinot Noir while the Carneros in uence provides eshy fruit notes that linger on the palate. These cooler climates help keep the grape acidity at advantageous levels to balance the wine's smooth, soft tannins.

Tight on the nose and vaguely chalky early on with emerging notes of used briarwood pipe, beetroot and strawberry rhubarb pie. Rather well behaved in the mouth, this shows nice restraint to the medicinal-toned black cherry and dusty beetroot flavors. There's a bit of mineral that pops on the back end, along with hints of strawberry pie and dried herbs that gain a bit of root beer on the moderately long and very gently spicy finish. There's a nice purity to this. The fruit flavor profile is not typical Pinot, being more minty and medicinal, but it is well presented. 88pts
A terrifically pleasing wine. A subtle complexity, well balanced, and an nice finish.
Been buying this regularly lately as I think the price is right. A little darker & heavier than other pinots, but real slick. A variety of berry flavors; blueberry, strawberry and rasberry come to mind with a lingering vanilla finish.
