Domus Aurea Cabernet Sauvignon 2006

Winemaker's Notes:

Made with a blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, and 7% Cabernet Franc, the 2006 Domus Aurea has a dazzling ruby color and an earthy, balsamic nose with hints of orange zest and chocolate. Aged for 18 months in French oak and another 18 months in the bottle, the Domus is juicy, concentrated, and balanced, with fine, well-integrated tannins.

This is the wine that got me started into wine collecting. Great wine. I totally loved it. Had some garlic cheddar and smoked Gouda with it. You have to try this wine

The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Domus Aurea reveals an alluring bouquet of balsam wood, pencil lead, espresso, blackcurrant, and blackberry. Savory, ripe, and concentrated on the palate, it has excellent length and several years of aging potential. It will provide prime drinking from 2012 to 2021.

Domus Aurea has occupied a leading role in Chile’s recent wine history, appealing to site-specificity, low yields and non-interventionist winemaking.
