User Reviews for Dominus Estate

Winemaker's Notes:

"The sweetest and most succulent black cherries, plums, violets, graphite, cinnamon and cloves come to life in the 2010 Dominus, a wine that stands out for its superb precision and balance. There is a purity and sheer sweetness in the fruit that is completely striking. As with the Napanook, today the 2010 lacks some of the depth of the 2009. It will be fun to see how the wine develops in bottle. The 2010 Dominus is a model of class and elegance. I find it utterly compelling. The blend is 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot....96+" WA 12/12 "Good deep ruby-red. High-pitched aromas of black plum, blackberry, spices, licorice and menthol. Juicy, spicy and quite firm, but considerably more pliant than the Napanook, with dark berry and spice flavors lifted by a captivating floral element. Wonderfully seamless wine with broad, silky tannins and impressive chocolatey length. This wine was made from the vintage's most refined lots, noted winemaker Mostero, adding that the challenge in 2010 was to avoid rusticity of tannins...92-95" IWC 06/12
