Food Pairings for Dominique Morel Aladame Fleurie
Beaujolais is, at its best, a deeply pleasurable wine and Morel’s wines encapsulate this style better than most. Dominique Morel has 12 hectares of vineyard in Beaujolais and the average age of his vines is 70 years, something that accounts for the intensity of his wines. He sums up his philosophy as follows: “I make wines that I like to drink, with lots of fruit, good colour and a rounded mouth-feel’’. This Fleurie is bright ruby in colour with purple hints, there are floral notes and red berry fruits on the nose. The wine is soft and relatively full-bodied, with the rounded tannins typical of the region. It has good length and an attractive freshness on the finish.
