The 2007 Lalama offers a similar aromatic profile but on the palate is richer and more layered while cannily combining elegance and power. Its finish is long and velvety.

Winemaker's Notes:

Made from Mencia grapes, in Ribeira Sacra,Galicia, north western Spain this red Lalama has received high scores. Dominguez and his team stick to traditional methods with modern twists to achieve authentic, powerful, nuanced wines. Hand-picking, long, cool vatting and a slow fermentation extract great fruit and body. Long ageing in barrel and oak vat help soften the tannins. They use no stabilizers, no filtration. The results consistently score in the 90s. Dominio do Bibei vineyards 100 acres of vines are in Galicia, in northwest Spain, off the beaten track of Spains better known wine regions. But make no mistake, if a wine this good came from Rioja or Ribeiro del Duero it would cost 50% more.
