Winemaker's Notes:

Deep ruby-red. Black raspberry, black cherry, mint, herbs and roasted oak on the nose. Sweet, dense and a bit youthfully reduced, with round, spicy flavors of blackberry, coffee, minerals and herbs. At once serious and pretty. Finishes persistent and ripely tannic, with cool notes of menthol and herbs. A very successful wine for this cool vintage. VITICULTURE SOIL: Hillside and river bench,clayey & calcareous comp.Slate AGE OF VINES: 80 years old PRUNNING: Gobelet HARVEST: Hand-picked after green pruning and leaf removal. Hand-picked with small crates. Sorting table. VARIETAL BLEND: Mencia 100% ALCOHOLIC FERMENTATION: Duration: 25 days Temperature: 32º C MALOLÁCTIC FERMENTATION: 100% in American oak barrel(Missouri) AGEING PROCESS IN BARREL: Capacity: 225 litters Age of barrel: New Type of oak: French (Allier) Level of toast: Medium, & heavy.
