Add your reviewpretty tasteless. not bad, just not much there. had it on the 2nd day after drinking one glass the night before when it obviously needed some air. it thickened but no flavors came out.
Deep dark color with thick legs. The nose is smokey minerals and rich paste like black fruits. Raw meat and dark pepper ladden black cherry. In the mouth on first sip I see medium tannins and a high acidity that leaves the mouth with a dry finish and chalky texture. Rich and layered with dark cherry notes, black berry and charcoal notes. Really a wine that opens up with time. A bit thin at first it was strange to see this wine take on body with time out of the bottle. For the money a wine worth trying. Though it does have a big structure I would say this wine will not improve too much, but rather just needs some air to really develop. 3.5/5 [NR]
Deep viscous cranberry color consistent from rim to core. The bouquet, although harsh and musty in the beginning, the wine eventually calmed to a nice round bouquet of chocolate, black cherry, charcoal and fresh dirt. To be honest, I really disliked the flavor of this wine in the beginning, feeling as if it lacked both body and finish, leaving me with an almost acidic and flabby sensation in my mouth. I originally tossed the wine off as a unimpressive wine that needed considerable more time in bottle, but I was wrong. Over the course of our meal, I found the palate to change completely, and like the nose, it evolved into a softer mouthfeel with stronger notes of black berry, charcoal and even a note of violet near the end. From where it began to where it eventually ended, I would suggest this wine both for the quality and for the experience of having a wine change so dramatically with time.
