- This single vineyard from Dominio de Atuata was planted in 1941 in the valley of Atauta in the Ribera Del Duero. Extremely limited in production, this lip-smacking red boasts notes of a dark earthiness and red stone fruits. An age-worthy wine.

- "The 2004 Llanos del Almendro is from what the estate believes is their finest parcel. From 60+-year-old (mostly grafted) vines, the Tempranillo fruit is aged for 21 months in French barriques of which 66% are new. Opaque purple in color, with a more open and expressive nose of minerals, smoked meat, and blue and black fruits, this full-bodied wine is mouth-filling and rich. In a blind tasting it could easily pass for a great Pauillac in its combination of power and elegance. Kudos to Dominio Atauta!..96" WA 2/07.
