Dominari Cabernet Sauvignon(2002)

Winery Notes: Dominari is grown in the Atlas Peak Appellation of Napa Valley. The 9th leaf vines are grown by Gaudeamus Vineyards. Located on Napa's Highest mountain range, the vines live on gentle rolling countryside sheltered by mountains and tall oaks. This vineyard produces less than two tons per acre of fruit. Quality not quantity! The crushed berries produce an intense ruby colored wine with romantic aromas followed by a sumptuous mouth giving way to a luscious finish. Spectacular wines. The Schutz family owns both the vineyards and the winery and have a commitment to excellence. read more...

Provocative, deep color leads to aromas of dark stone fruits, wild blackberries and spice, finishing smooth and long.

The Schutz’ 2002 Cabernet is from their Guadeamus Vineyard at the 1,700-foot level. This is the ninth leaf (year) for the Schutz’ vines, planted to Clone 6 – one of the majestic Cab clones. While top-heavy with those flavors you’ve come to expect in a $75 Napa Valley Cab – sweet vanilla and oak, chocolate, jamminess – the terroir of the region read more...
