Domenico Clerico Barbera d'Alba Trevigne 2005
Showing very mute tonight. My memories of this bottle included lush intense fruit on the nose and a full bodied performance on the palate but this is far from what I recall. Tonight's bottle showed some red fruit, cedar and quite a bit of heat on the nose. On the palate it shows some currant and vanilla with a drying, short finish. Possible bad bottle... maybe. But I honestly think it may just be going down hill or in a funky stage. Unfortunately this was my last bottle and so I was unable to experiment with another.
This was a good solid bottle. Perhaps overpriced at the time that i purchased it. Over a good showing. I anticipated that it would have shown a bit more intensity of fruit, it has a decent finish that has some length to it. Not a rock star bottle; however still not dissapointing. I would have it again with out hesitation.
