What to Expect

Pinot Grigio is one of the world's most popular wines. Also known under the French moniker "Pinot Gris", and even the German "Ruländer" among others, Pinot Grigio is a chameleon of a grape. It is produced in a range of styles, from the light fruity Italian style that has gained popularity, to a more mineral, flinty rich wine favored by the French - particularly in Alsace - and emulated by many in the new world.

Varietal 100% Pinot Gris Closure Cork Size 750ml Alc/Vol 13.5% Enjoy Now - 2012 Originally called Tokay d'Alsace- then Tokay Pinot Gris- this grape variety is not related in any way to the Hungarian Tokaji which comes from the Furmint grape variety. It is actually a Burgundian pinot which has been found in Alsace since the 17th century. The name Pinot Gris is generally used from 2007. Buttercup yellow in colour with green hue. The wine has a youthful quality. The nose is pleasant moderately expressive displays delicate fruity flavours- quince- and white flesh fruits with liquorice hints. read more...
