Vintage: 2008 03/25/2011

The nose on the wine is full of almond, cream, banana, and citric notes like lemon and orange, letting you know it is going to be acidic. And acidic it is...The palate is sharp and the acidity overwhelms the fruit followed by a lack of finish. After sitting, orange peel became apparent on the palate, but it was too little, too late. I'll stick with their Pinot Gris, which I liked significantly better.

3 of 9 on the sweetness meter on the back of the bottle (the meter starts at 1, not 0 though). A touch of bottle funk immediately on opening the bottle, but this blew off quickly. Some peach on the nose but its a bit muted. The nose makes me expect a fatter wine than this turns out to be. On the palate there's good balance with the acidity matching any residual sugar well. Mid is a bit flat, but the finish livens back up and is very pleasant. This would be great with grilled fish.

pale lemon green color; fresh lemon-lime citrus, green apple, and mineral notes on the nose; more textured body that expected and well integrated medium high acidity with clean long-ish finish; solid value at 13.99

Bright golden color, honeysuckle and pear with a little PEZ in the nose. Nice medium mouthfeel with flavors of baked apple, apricot, and melon with flint leading the ever so slightly bitter acids that trail brightly on.

Domaines Schlumberger Pinot Blanc 'Les Princes Abbes' 2006: Der Pinot Blanc von Domaines Schlumberger zeigt sich im Glas in einem strahlenden Goldgelb. Sein Bukett ist angenehm, markant und ausdrucksstark mit frischen, fruchtigen Aromen von Zitrusfrüchten. Mit zunehmender Verweildauer des Weines im Glas verstärkt sich der fruchtige Charakter des Buketts und delikate Kräuternoten treten hervor. Der verspielte und erfrischende Duft des Pinot Blanc ist wirklich beeindruckend. Am Gaumen präsentiert er sich zunächst "mäßig" üppig. Er entwickelt einen frischen, markanten Charakter mit einer leicht prickelnden Note. Im Mund begeistert sein vielschichtiger Geschmack, der von Frucht- sowie Gebäck-Aromen dominiert wird. Er erfreut mit einem lebhaften Abgang von mittlerer Länge. Wine Tasting NotesIt is a dry wine combining the freshness of one with the aromatic qualities of the other. It is quite close to the grape variety Chardonnay which can be found in Burgundy, and is in the middle of the range of Alsace wines. Its strong points : its suppleness, its emphatic fruitiness, its ability to easily go with a large range of dishes. Cellaring potential : 3 or 4 years.

Domaine Schlumberger Pinot Blanc Alsace Intense floral and lemony scents. Fresh yet full and soft with good acidity. Morrell customers love it! It is our best selling Pinot Blanc ever.
