Keeping this huge, by Burgundian standards anyway, operation straight in terms of who owns what and what label(s) a given wine appears under is frankly a challenge. There are three possibilities though only two are reviewed here; the third is Maison Moillard, which as the name suggests is a négociant business. The Thomas family, of which the 6th generation is now in charge, owns Moillard but for various tax, marriage and inheritance reasons, has the owned vineyards held in two domaines.
