Food Pairings for Domaine Zind-Humbrecht Gewurztraminer "Herrenweg de Turckheim" Elsass
Aromas filled with varying dark berries, complex and concentrated flavors. This was my last Murray's Cheese pairing of the night and my favorite of the 5 that evening. The cheese was a Cabot Clothbound Cheddar, a hard cheddar with grassy and nutty notes. The cheese offered more complexity to the wine and brought out a little spice on the finish.
Excellent with mediterranean food. Strawberry finish. Mad sediment at the bottom of the bottle.
Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre, and Counoise. Apples, cherry, and strawberry aromas and palate. Candy apple notes emerge, as well as sweet apple-spice aromas. Lovely streak of limestone adds complexity.
Very nice wine with plenty of berry on the nose. with a smooth finish. Tastes of berry and vanilla as it goes down. Nice medium bodied wine. Great for pasta or something like herb chicken or pork loin. Paired nicely with the stuffed pasta shells for dinner. If you can get it for under 15.00 its a nice buy.
Nice garnet color. Herbal notes and a little earthiness on the nose. Some tart cherry (just a hint) and raspberry overtones on the palate. Tannins have some grip but do not steal the show. I also pick up herbal notes on the finish, sage and rosemary. Not a long finish but hangs on just long enough for you to appreciate it. Overall well balanced. I've had some good Antinori wines and some great Antinori wines, but I've never tasted a bad Antinori wine. This one is good.
Not sure if it wants to be a rose or a light red. Looks like cranberry juice. The wine hits the front of the tongue like luscious silk but then the ridiculously high alcohol spreads out from there coating the sides and back of the tongue as well as the rest of the mouth with heat. It's got some interesting flavors including peach and lilac -- not words I have ever used together -- but for the price I wish it was less harsh.
The color is fresh and reminiscent of a young Cabernet Sauvignon. The nose is sharp and elegant supported by a nice acidity. Then come heavier notes of wood, leather and smoke thicken the whole. On the palate, the attack is straightforward. We find the acidity of the nose. Oak aging is soft and unobtrusive. It has good length and back is very interesting. Maturity: Drink now Reviews of maturity: Request a little time to open after the opening today. One senses the acidity and tannin structure that could make it last several more years.

Wine & Spirits ReviewThe peachy richness of viognier is closed off behind the robust density and spice of young roussanne (there's also a little marsanne and grenache blanc in the blend). Cellar it for two or three years, then serve with roast veal or cauliflower roasted with garlic.Wine Tasting NotesThe Cotes de Tablas Blanc is a blend in the style of French Cotes du Rhone whites, and features spicy aromas of herbs, stone fruits and minerals are followed in the mouth by apricot flavors, rich texture, bright acidity, and a long, clean peachy finish.

The soil of the Hochheim vineyard is made up of loamy loess and gravel. This was picked at a Spätlese level of ripeness but vinified into a dry Riesling. Stunning concentration from 50 year old vines.
This is a blend of four estate grown grape varieties: Mourvèdre, Syrah, Grenache and a dash of Counoise. It's well-structured and very generous on the palate with dark berried fruit, raspberries and spice. Organic.
Bright yellow. Spicy orange and lime on the nose, with a dusty mineral quality adding interest. Racy, sharply focused citrus zest and green apple scents gain weight with air, picking up a light apricot character. Offers gentle sweetness on the long, ... Stephen Tanzer.
