Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Premier Cru Beauroy 2005
One of Domaine William Fevre's premier cru vineyards, located on the Left Bank. A lively Chablis, ideal for those who like wine with racy acidity and crisp characters. Medium bodied, waves of crisp green apple arouse the senses with an underlying mineral freshness. The palate is awash with green fruit flavours with hints of toasted chestnut leaving a generous and rewarding finish. Drink now for fresh characteristics or cellar for up to 5 years to allow the wine to develop more rounded and complex flavours.
Beautiful deepest harvest-straw in color - almost lemon-oil yellow in the glass. Good viscosity. Light northern mountain bog-cranberry and spice on the nose with the usual mineral overtones. Somewhat neutral upon entry with more cranberry. Very dry, showing its age, with a fairly neat medium finish. A bit lacking mid-palate. Still, very Chablis and clean if slightly disappointing for a Premium Cru from an above average vintage and purveyor.
