Domaine Weinbach Pinot Blanc Alsace Aoc Pinot Blanc Reserve 2008
Smokey on the nose. Creamy caramel flavors on the palate. Long palate. 85 pts.
wine tasting event 1/30. VERY nice white - fruity, complex scent and a pleasure to drink.
We're talking a gorgeous mellow golden-rod color with a tropical fruits meet honeysuckle nose, so why is the finish so lackluster? There's a decent balance here, you can taste the residual sugar and a hint of brine. However at the end it leaves something to be desired. On it's own or with food, it seems like it's just a wine that fades into the background. It's a wallflower.
