#97 on 2008 Top 100; High-toned, displaying violet, black currant and spice aromas and flavors. Starts out silky, with ripe, fine-grained tannins propping up the finish. Elegant and long. Best from 2010 through 2020. 500 cases imported. -BS Wine Spectator. A Pinot Noir wine from Burgundy in France. 2005 Girardin, Vincent Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes 750ml

Winemaker's Notes:

Pitch black in color. The typical rustic, coffee tobacco notes, along with a little vanilla bean. Toasty oak, silky fruit on the palate. a little bit metallic with lots of coffee without a lot of sugar, but enough baby acids. Smoke and toast on the finish and a bit of tea leaves.
