Appealing minerally nose of oaky papaya. Crisp citrus palate. High minerality overwhelms the hint of peach blossom. Delicate oaky finish. Well balanced and elegant but a bit rich for my taste in sauvigon blanc.

I just opened a bottle of this that I got in Canada, that had been impecacbly cellared here, and I think I just waited too long to oopen it, but after a full hour in the glass, it began to reveal layers of deep violet perfume, a touch of earth, and from the getgo was quite rich and silky from one of my favorite producers of Sancerre rouge. I think 2 years ago it wouldve been fatter, more vibrant aromatically. It wasn't oxised or remotely tired, just less expressive.

This fresh, racy white exhibits a floral edge, backed by hints of talc, white peach and green fig. Light, but pure and persistent through the finish. Drink now. -JM Wine Spectator. A Sauvignon Blanc wine from Loire Valley in France. 2011 Domaine Vacheron Sancerre 750ml

Winemaker's Notes:

The Vacheron 2011 Sancerre smells and is juicily suggestive on the palate of ripe honeydew melon tinged with mint and borage. Silken in texture and satisfyingly low-key, it finishes with persistent sap and imposing ripeness, if relatively little complexity let alone dynamic interplay. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
