Domaine Tempier Tourtine Bandol 2008

Member Review by Cab Lovers:

Per Se's head sommelier Michel Couvreux was very serious as he suggested this Bandol to us, but when he returned to our table after the first few sips, and learned that we really enjoyed the selection, his expression softened into the smile of a man in love. This, he told us fondly, was one of his favorite wines in their collection and it's easy to understand why. This complex, full-bodied red has wonderful structure, stone fruit notes and a good mineral base. It is smooth on the pallet and plays well with various courses.

Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

This tiny lieu-dit yields some of Domaine Tempier's most structured, ageworthy reds; notes of dark fruit and licorice are supported by an unflinchingly firm mineral backbone.
