Domaine Spiropoulos Red Stag Agiorgitiko Nemea 2013

External Review by We Speak Wine:

A dry red wine made from 100% Agiorgitiko grape. After harvest and fermentation, the wine is racked two to three times before it is stored in new French oak barrels for twelve months and then is transferred to the bottle for an additional six months of aging before release. The Red Stag is a deep red color with soft tannins and a long finish. It has intense complex vanilla, toasted wood and berry aromas. It can be drunk now or over the next four years. - Winery

This very approachable and very drinkable red is made from the indigenous Agiorgitiko grape. Notes of red currants and black pepper are followed up by soft tannins and a long finish. Try this with light fare for an amazing pairing.

A rich and balanced palate of soft tannins and long finish characterizes 'RED STAG'. The color is deep red. Intense, complex and perfectly balanced. Hints of wood, vanilla, cherries, and black forest fruits. A wine ready to be enjoyed now.
