This shows off some rich clay soil tones right off the bat, and then adds notes of soft, barrel aged wood tones to the soft core of dried peach and apple fruit. On entry it shows good acid, but also a rather soft, expansive gently toasty, nutty core of fruit. The mid-palate is slightly hollow with plenty of toasty wood tones supporting modest, vanilla tinged, green apple and pineapple fruits. The finish really shows great length with a nice layered feel and good, emerging complexity. At its core it’s a soft, subtle wine, with an edge of delicacy to it making it a good match for a simple herb and lemon scented roast chicken. 90pts

This is my kind of Pinot. Medium bodied. Fruity and tasty. delicious raspberry, cherry and oak. this ain't no Smoking Loon.
Lemons, moderate-to-low oak. Slightly bready finish. Not too shabby.
The wine has a nice deep, inky purple color at the center, leading to a bright ruby along the edges. The nose is at first a spicy sweetness, with black pepper and blueberries that ease into some hints of smoke, cocoa powder and a touch of lavender. The taste is wonderfully complex, with some spice and floral notes up front that transitions smoothly to blueberries and black plum midpalate. The tannins are somewhat rustic and smoky that suppose a silky finish that lingers on the palate. Very pleasant to sip at the end of a long day! Graphite and charred wood on the nose. Aromas of ripe cherry, asian spice, lavender. Silky texture on the palate with flavors of black cherry, anise, cola, plum, cocoa and toast. Nice and not too heavy as some can be. Good balance, rich and smooth. 3/10/12

When allowed a few moments of air, this firm, comparatively tight wine rids itself of a bit of earthiness in the nose and displays a nice note of mineral-tinged red-cherry fruit in its place. The dark ruby-colored 2007 Pinot Noir Yamhill Cuvée offers up a superb bouquet of smoke, cinnamon, rose petal, cherry, and cranberry. Spicy, expressive, and medium-bodied on the palate, it displays a racy personality marked by savory flavor, vibrant acidity, good depth, and enough structure to evolve for 1-2 years. Drink this tasty effort through 2017.
The entry level 2006 Pinot Noir Yamhill Cuvee delivers an expressive nose of rose petal, red cherry and raspberry that leaps from the glass. This leads to a velvety-textured, medium-bodied Pinot with ample sweet fruit, good depth, and a fruit-filled finish. It lacks only complexity. Drink this pleasurable wine over the next 4ndash;5 years.
Black fruit and cola-berry aromas lead to a rich plate of sweet plum, black cherry, licorice, and espresso. Notes of black pepper, herbs, and leather on finish.
Bright and lively, graceful, with a nicely focused mouthful of raspberry, cream and cinnamon flavors that fly smoothly over a bed of snappy tannins. Drink now through 2014.
Domaine Serene is one of the few Oregon wineries that has been getting Chardonnay right. This has a refreshing lilt to the spicy lime and pineapple flavors lingering on the beautifully focused delicately oaked finish. Drink now through 2010. Clos du Soleil is one of seven vineyards of Domaine Serene's Evenstad Estate located atop the Dundee Hills of Oregon. It is situated on the east slope ranging from 650 - 690 feet in elevation. Dijon clone 76 on Riparia gloire rootstock was selected to enhance the intense ripe fruit characteristics.
