A classic Domaine Serene Evenstad Reserve. It could use a couple of more years in the cellar to bring out the fruit even more so. However, the bottle is a half bottle, which is not noted on this website.
Smooth texture, great finish! My favorite Oregon wine! All around delicious
External Reviews for Domaine Serene Pinot Noir Willamette Valley Reserve
Since its first vintage in 1990, Domaine Serene has produced exquisite estate grown Pinot Noir made atop the renowned Red Hills of Dundee, Oregon. A spicy, complex red wine that's full of cherries, orange rind, vanilla and clove.
The powerful nose displays a complex array of blackberry, boysenberry, ripe blueberry, wild strawberry, caramel, pipe tobacco, black tea, and dried flowers. The rich and structured front palate show ripe blackberry, bing cherry, plum, cola, oak spice, and vanilla with fine-grained tannins and excellent length.
The wine that made the Evenstadt's famous is a blend of Pommard, Wadenswil and Dijon clones from their dry-farmed estate vineyards in both Dundee and the Eola Hills. It sums up everything that defines the best in Oregon Pinot Noir: sumptuous fruit, gorgeously silky mouthfeel and a wonderful blend of the complex and the accessible. It is truly one of the treasures of American viticulture.
"Lithe in texture, with a distinctive range of red cherry, black cherry, cinnamon and mocha flavors that ride smoothly over a graceful frame, lingering nicely on the clear, expressive finish. Drink now through2015." 93 points - Wine Spectator
