User Reviews for Domaine Serene Pinot Noir Willamette Valley Mark Bradford

Winemaker's Notes:

TASTING NOTES Effusive aromas of black raspberry, wild cherry, cola, beet root, slight truffle, spearmint, smoke and toast. The structured palate shows cane berry, cranberry, bing cherry, bramble, mineral and earth with oak spice and great length. - Tony Rynders, Winemaker VINEYARD Mark Bradford is one of the seven vineyards of the Evenstad Estate located on the southernmost hilltop of the Dundee Hills of Oregon. This 11-acre, west-facing vineyard, named after the Evenstad's son, was planted in 1993 at an elevation of 640-740 feet. The crumbly red soil is volcanic in origin and of the Jory series. CROP YIELD - 1.87 tons/acre. AGING - Aged 17 months in French oak barrels of which 95% were new. Unfined and unfiltered. The 2004 “Mark Bradford Vineyard” Pinot Noir is comprised of 58% Wadenswil and 42% Pommard. VINTAGE NOTES 2004 will be known as the "Tale of Two Vintages". After a wild and very dry winter, bud-break began in mid-March. A cool and wet Spring resulted in small and very loose clusters. There was a wide spread in the completion of bloom which led to early and late season fruit. The cool fall weather allowed for excellent flavor development and hang time.
