Editorial Reviews for Domaine Serene Pinot Noir Willamette Valley Evenstad Reserve
The nose here is marred by VA and beyond that is a complex yet unappealing array of old, stale aromas. Broad, full and simple on the palate with huge dark cherry fruit presented in a clumsy, ungainly package. Defective bottle I hope.

This is the very best we've tasted.
Hot, strong acetone, soft, peachiness with milkfat, scallops
Standard Oregon pinot. Definitely benefits from a long decant for the tart tannins to cool off. Pretty closed overall will probably get better with age. Went fine with my rare lamb chops.
I know a woman who can’t drink red wine due to an allergy, and she is very happy to simply take in the aroma of this wine. Once sipped, your mouth is endlessly entertained by various flavors, like waves arriving on a beach: a hint of cedar, some raspberry, cranberry, and strawberry, oak, fresh spices, and pure pinot magic. You can enjoy any food with this wine, in my totally biased opinion, even a big, fat steak. That’s because for all its delicacy and complexity, this is a fairly big, medium-bodied wine. A decidedly intense vanilla and cola nose along with black fruit on the palate. Smooth upon entry and finishes a touch hot. Spice and black fruit and vanilla on the finish as well. Usually I wouldn't go for this style of wine, but I was into it the night I tasted it. Palates DO change, but perhaps I was just craving something sweet.
Big juicy and delicious. Bits of vanilla cola and spices. Not subtle at all and maybe not exactly my style but unarguably delicious

Shows a harmonious balance of structure, richness and acidity with soft tannins and a clean, lingering finish. With clonal variation and site driven diversity, we are able to craft this wine to our precise and exacting standards year after year.
Dark and chocolaty, this yields hints of raspberries with air. The palate has a tea-like accent and a seamless texture with plenty of oak to mark the finish. Give it time in the cellar to knit. Wine & Spirits. A Pinot Noir wine from Oregon in USA. 2008 Serene, Domaine Pinot Noir Evenstad Reserve 750ml
Deep, but not in the least overdone and a bit on the firm side in balance, the 2008 Evenstad Reserve is a mid-sized Pinot Noir of quiet complexity and grace with a trim mix of ripe red cherries, sweet oak, green tea and herbs running its length. Dark, full, generous and ripe to the far edge of elegance, this powerful Pinot is saturated with black fruits, annotated with fennel, pepper, smoke and espresso, the rich and varied flavors rolling right through a lush midpalate and on into a gently fading finish. Retasted over 24-48 hours, it continued to evolve and develop additional nuances. A wine to cellar for a decade or more. - P.G. Sleek and tangy, tightly focusing its cherry, raspberry and mineral flavors on a taut frame. Finishes with intensity and a hint of black olive. Drink now through 2018. 8,000 cases made. -HS The 2008 Evenstad Reserve has a super-expressive nose of smoke, spice, mineral, incense, black cherry, and black raspberry. This leads to a medium-bodied, stuffed wine containing layers of ripe fruit, outstanding volume, vibrant acidity, and a lengthy, velvety finish. It will benefit from 2-3 years of additional bottle age and will offer prime drinking from 2012 to 2020.
Black fruit and cola-berry aromas lead to a rich plate of sweet plum, black cherry, licorice, and espresso. Notes of black pepper, herbs, and leather on finish.
Lithe in texture, with a distinctive range of red cherry, black cherry, cinnamon and mocha flavors that ride smoothly over a graceful frame, lingering nicely on the clear, expressive finish. Drink now through 2015.
