What to Expect
Riesling is a chameleon of a grape, able to produce world class wines that range from bone dry to unctuously sweet. Germany is most closely associated with Riesling, where all styles are made and the range of flavors runs the gamut from steely and crisp with crunchy mineral-driven flavors to fresh lime, apple and peach flavored expressions - even rich honied, candied fruit tones in the great dessert wines.

Riesling, a dry yet lively wine with a racy acidity, is considered the noble grape of the Alsatian varietals. It is very different to its German counterpart and to the numerous Rieslings which are now appearing around the world. The Alsace Riesling is better known for the elegant balance of acidity and fruit. It is a late maturing varietal and continues to mature even at quite low temperatures with wonderful results when the vintage ends with a warm and sunny harvest month. Wine Tasting NotesA fine example. This dry, fruity, discreetly mineral wine comes from one of Frances, or even the worlds greatest grape varieties. The terroir of our slopes enables it to express itself in a most beautiful manner. An excellent gourmet wine ! Its strong points : its structure, its freshness, its length on the palate, its lemony notes. At Domaine Schlumberger, it is sold after being matured for several years in the cellar where it has gained balance and finesse. Cellaring potential : 3 to 5 years.
