What to Expect

Also Known as Pinot Bianco in Italy and Weissburgunder in Germany, Pinot Blanc produces bright wines with a gentle fruit character. At their best they have a transparency that reveals a mineral note in the wine. They tend to have a rich mouthfeel yet remain well-balanced.

At Domaine Schlumberger it is made with equal proportions of two grape varieties: pinot blanc and pinot auxerrois. It is a dry wine combining the freshness of one with the aromatic qualities of the other. It is quite close to the grape variety Chardonnay which can be found in Burgundy, and is in the middle of the range of Alsace wines. Its strong points: its suppleness, its emphatic fruitiness, its ability to easily go with a large range of dishes.
