Domaine Schlumberger Domaines Schlumberger Pinot Gris 'Les Princes Abbes' France 2009
The wine is a light yellow with yellow straw reflections. The disk is bright and limpid. The nose is open with autumn fruit flavors (quince, baked apples). Airing reveals honeyed and crystallized notes. The onset in the mouth is ample but remains fresh. In the middle mouth, a little bit of roundness delicately supported by the acidity of the wine is present. This wine is a good match for white meats in sauce, game terrines, pastries or cheeses.

This dry Pinot Gris relies on its richness for power and concentration. From the steep, hillside Schlumberger Vineyards, this is dense and spicy; its acidity and minerality are essential to its character. Age for a year, or drink now.
Hints of smoke, lemon curd and fresh forest floor add layers of complexity to the flavors of white peach, pink grapefruit and spiced orange peel in this elegant, well-cut white, which offers fine focus and a silky texture, with a tangy, mouthwatering finish. Drink now through 2019.
