Winemaker's Notes:

"This is a brick house, with iron-clad grip coursing through the core of black currant, dried fig and blackberry reduction notes. Lots of bay, tobacco and juniper stride in on the finish, with a sprinkle of baker’s chocolate for added length and tension. Needs a little time. Best from 2015 through 2025...94" WS Insider 8/12 "The 2010 Gigondas Tradition (an identical blend) is dense, showing crisper acids, and a touch more focus and precision than the 2009. But again, it is a big wine, deep, full-bodied, with outstanding ripeness in its hints of licorice, truffles, asphalt, black raspberries and black cherries...90-93" WA 11/11 "A step up and one gorgeous bottle of Gigondas, the 2010 Domaine Santa Duc Gigondas is loaded with red and black fruits, spice, licorice, and saddle leather like aromas on the nose. A blend of 75% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 5% Mourvèdre, and 5% Cinsault that is aged all in foudre, this medium to full-bodied effort has a rich, supple texture to go with layers of fruit, excellent balance, and a surprisingly substantial, tannic frame that emerges with time in the glass. This beauty should be purchased by the case, and consumed over the coming 10-12 years...93" RR 10/12
