Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. A Proprietary Blend wine from Rhone in France. 2009 Saint-Prefert, Domaine de Chateauneuf du Pape 750ml
The classic 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape exhibits notes of lavender, kirsch, black raspberries, pepper, tobacco leaf, and spice box. Full-bodied, seductive, and round with a generous, full-bodied mouthfeel and tremendous length and purity, this beauty is made from the estatersquo;s youngest vines, just under 40-years of age.

Medium to full-bodied, soft and round, it is ideal for drinking over the next 5-6 years
The 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape is a blend of 80% Grenache and the rest equal parts Mourvedre, Syrah, and Cinsault. Half of it is aged in 600-litre demi-muids and the rest in cement tanks. The wine is delicious, showing the brilliant typicity of the appellation in its notes of lavender, melted licorice, kirsch liqueur, tapenade, and spice box. It is soft, round, full-bodied, very sexy, exceptionally pure, layered, and just a brilliant Chateauneuf du Pape. Drink it over the next 12ndash;15 years.
