A Proprietary Blend wine from Rhone in France. 2009 Saint-Prefert, Domaine de Chateauneuf du Pape 750ml
The dark ruby/purple-tinged 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape Classique has slightly drier tannins in its notes of charcoal, damp earth, strawberry and black cherry jam. It is medium to full-bodied, but the tannins seem slightly less well-integrated compared to the 2010, and the wine is a trifle more angular. It should drink well for at least a decade.
The 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape (80% Grenache and the rest equal parts Mourvedre, Syrah and Cinsault aged in concrete and demi-muids) exhibits a deep ruby color along with a big, sweet, jammy nose of red and black currants, kirsch, Provencal herbs, licorice and spice box. Medium to full-bodied, soft and round, it is ideal for drinking over the next 5andndash;6 years
The 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape is a blend of 80% Grenache and the rest equal parts Mourvedre, Syrah, and Cinsault. Half of it is aged in 600-litre demi-muids and the rest in cement tanks. The wine is delicious, showing the brilliant typicity of the appellation in its notes of lavender, melted licorice, kirsch liqueur, tapenade, and spice box. It is soft, round, full-bodied, very sexy, exceptionally pure, layered, and just a brilliant Chateauneuf du Pape. Drink it over the next 12-15 years.

Rhone Report, The. A Proprietary Blend wine from Rhone in France. 2009 Saint-Prefert, Domaine de Chateauneuf du Pape 750ml
The classic 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape exhibits notes of lavender, kirsch, black raspberries, pepper, tobacco leaf, and spice box. Full-bodied, seductive, and round with a generous, full-bodied mouthfeel and tremendous length and purity, this beauty is made from the estate's youngest vines, just under 40-years of age.
Vivid red. Expressive, perfumed nose shows raspberry, garrigue, floral and smoky mineral qualities. Lush red fruit flavors are energized by tangy minerality and framed by silky tannins. Finishes pure and juicy, with a repeating floral note. You'll be able to drink this sexy wine as soon as it is released. Based on 80% grenache.
