Domaine Robert Chevillon Nuits St. Georges les Vaucrains Premiere Cru 1996
Member Review by winenut718:
popped and poured. haunting, brooding ruby. Initially, nothing. and I mean nothing. no nose, thin, watery palate with harsh tannins. After about an hour, the nose woke up and began to show some life- with coaxing, some pomegranate, iodine, rocks, and then an herb garden- a touch of mint, sweet thyme and then raspberries and something like sweet gasoline (in a good way). After another 30 minutes the palate wakes up as well- incredibly full (sperin the mouth, pure black rapberry fruit with a finish that is like stones wrapped in stainless steel. This is a complete package- definitely no hurry to drink, but fascinating now.
