- Pascal Lachaux, who is the son-in-law of the late Robert Arnoux, believes that the best 2000s are surprisingly close to the quality of the '99s but are not as concentrated. He predicts they will mature relatively early and are quite gifted in terms of expressing their underlying terroirs. In terms of vintage comparisons, Lachaux commented that '00 is between '99 and '97 as the '00s are better balanced than the '97s but less concentrated and with lower acidities than the '99s.
