Domaine Ramonet Chassagne Montrachet Morgeot Rouge 2009

Winemaker's Notes:

"A big, lush style, very 2009, with peach, lemon cake, vanilla and pastry notes supported by a structure that relies as much on tannins as acidity. This is well-integrated and long on the spicefilled finish. Very Bâtard-like...93" WS 5/12 "This is admirably pure and displays none of the borderline excess wood that a few of these Ramonet ‘09s are evidencing, indeed this is more elegant than usual with its citrus, floral and white orchard fruit suffused nose. There is good detail and energy and while this is clearly quite ripe it’s not ponderous, at least not provided that a cool serving temperature is maintained. There is good intensity and plenty of sap that coats the palate on the solidly lingering finish. This will drink well young but should offer several years of upside development potential as well...90" BH 06/12

Had this wine at Vintage Wines SD, did not like it as much as the Chassagne-Montrachet Caillerets, Dom. Ramonet 2009. The minerality was a little too much for me. Other than that, I still like it better than the californian Chradonnay.
