Domaine Ramonet Chassagne-Montrachet 2010

Winemaker's Notes:

"'Magician of Chardonnay', Pierre Ramonet, became, in the 1930s, the idol of Raymond Baudoin of 'La Revue du Vin de France' and Frank Schoonmaker, the American importer who launched the trend of 'winemaker-wine'. After Pierre's son Andre, Jean-Claude and Noel, the grandsons of Pierre, took over the reins of the Domaine Ramonet, with the same passion and respect for tradition. Today, this important 36 Acres property located in Chassagne-Montrachet produces many wines like Bourgogne, Saint-Aubin, Chassagne- Montrachet (of which 6 Premiers Crus notably Ruchottes), Puligny- Montrachet, as well as Grands Crus Batard-Montrachet, Bienvenue- Batard, Chevalier and Montrachet. All are cultivated traditionally under sustainable techniques, harvest is manual and ageing is done in barrel for approximately twelve to eighteen months depending on the appellation." -Importer

This is a classic Burgundy Chardonnay with aromas of white flowers and apple fruits. Ramonet's village Chassagne-Montrachet is a wonderful example of classic Burgundy.
