A fresh, bright and very pinot nose introduces precise and pretty flavors that offer good volume, excellent depth and concentration as well as fine length, all wrapped in fine but firm finishing tannins. A lovely effort and recommended. Burghound. A Pinot Noir wine from Burgundy in France. 2003 Domaine Ponsot Morey St Denis Cuvee des Alouettes 1500ml

Winemaker's Notes:

90-93 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): (from Monts Luisants; an alouette is a lark). Strong reduction again precludes a satisfactory examination of the aromas. By contrast to the funky nose there is excellent verve and freshness to the concentrated, detailed and quite impressively pure and transparent flavors that terminate in a mouth coating and persistent finish. Interestingly the tannins here are almost as fine-grained as those of the Chambolle 'Charmes'. Comments: Outstanding. Drink: 2022+. (Jan 2012)
