Domaine Ponsot Gevrey-Chambertin Cuvée l'Abeille 2005

Winemaker's Notes:

89-91 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): (from parcels in the premier cru portion of Monts Luisants and others scattered around Morey). Deep ruby. A moderate touch of reduction cannot completely hide the pretty upper register red berry fruit and iron-infused earth aromas that can also be found on the precise and quite finely detailed flavors that possess excellent richness and vibrancy on the intense and penetrating finish. This isn't quite as powerful as the l'Abeille but there is a bit better focus and relief to the flavors. Recommended. 2013+. (Jan 2007)

Domaine Ponsot:
Domaine Ponsot wines are traditional wines and our production methods stay away from modern trends. This is a conscious choice we have made, rather than something that stems from an occult belief in what is known today as 'non-interventionism'.

A pungently earthy nose features aromas of red and dark berry fruit aromas and plenty of game and underbrush nuances that continue onto the slightly animale suffused flavors that don't possess quite the freshness and energy of the best of these villa...
