Domaine Pierre Usseglio Côtes du Rhône 2004
External Reviews for Domaine Pierre Usseglio Côtes du Rhône
Dark red. Perfumed and smoky, with assertive red berry and cherry jam aromas and notes of dried rose and garrigue. Fresh and lively on the palate, showing a precise set of berry and floral flavors that are bright and sappy. Finishes brisk and racy.
Solid, with raspberry and boysenberry fruit and notes of garrigue, briar, graphite and mineral. Long, gravelly finish shows juicy acidity and tannins that are more muscular than those in most 2004s. Best from 2007 through 2020.
Tartness as well as fresh cherry and strawberry notes are found in the 2004 Chateauneuf du Pape Tradition. Medium ruby in color with spicy earthiness, good, fresh, lively berry and cherry fruit, hints of saddle leather and resiny notes along with some herbes de Provence, this is a medium-bodied, elegant, Burgundian-styled Chateauneuf du Pape made from a blend of 85% Grenache and the rest Syrah, Mourvedre, and Cinsault aged completely in tank and old foudres.
