Domaine Philippe Tessier Cour-Cheverny Domaine Blanc 2004

Member Review by drdebs:

Not sure romorantin is my thing. Aromas of grapefruit pith, damp canvas, and soil--strange in a white wine. Palate echoes these notes: pithy citrus, and the taste of sandy dirt. Turns out these are all correct and typical of the varietal. Short finish. Have recorked and will try again tomorrow. Food pairing a real issue--we had with chicken and mushroom crepes, and that's probably as good as it gets. Can't imagine what this would go well with. Day 2: soil has abated a bit, but this is still going to be a wine that is an acquired taste.
