A big, concentrated wine from Lirac, neighbor of Tavel. With complex aromas of eucalyptus, anise, earth, and black cherries, this is great for full-flavored stews or game.
The 2009 Cotes du Rhone-Villages Lirac, which reveals abundant raspberry and black cherry fruit intermixed with a hint of spring flowers. Medium-bodied with good acidity, it should drink nicely for several years.
