Domaine Paul Bruno Cabernet Sauvignon Maipo Valley 1996

Member Review by Philip James:

Not sure why this wine had a rating of 1.5 - its better than that. I didnt check the age of the wine when i opened it, so was a little surprised at the brick red color, upon realizing that it was 13 years old, the color made sense. Great nose, of tar, tobacco, cherry - very well aged. Smooth with some bright strawberry top notes and a tart cherry finish. The finish is very woody and the tannins have some strength still. Very nice, and clearly a powerhouse back in its day.

Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.
