Producer note: Pascal Bouley told me that 2005 is a "complete vintage. Everything about it was pretty much perfect, from the growing season to the ease of the vinification. We began picking on the 15th of September and the crop was super clean and it was essentially wasted effort to even bother sorting though there's always a few things to eliminate, such as leaves, twigs and the odd insect. Yields across all the appellations were respectable at around 40 hl/ha and sugars were excellent at between 13 and 13.5%. I did my usual vinification and both colors and solids were easily extracted read more...

BURGHOUND Tasting note: Relatively high-toned and unusually elegant red pinot and raspberry fruit aromas complement the rich, firm and pure medium weight plus flavors that possess excellent detail and a subtle minerality on the penetrating and beautifully balanced finish. This is an impressive effort with ample depth and unusually good presence for its level. Worth a look.
