Marcel Niquet is married to a relative of Henri Jayer who brought a .61 ha parcel of Echézeaux with her. Only a small amount of wine is made and even less is bottled under the name of the Domaine. About 30% new oak is used and the result is elegant, relatively fine Echézeaux with plenty of complexity, velvet and style; in particular, the '98 is highly recommended. (Bayfield Imports, Brooklyn, NY). Beautifully complex, full, rich, slightly earthy fruit leads to intense, concentrated, balanced, velvety, moderately structured flavors of excellent length.
