Domaine Michel Niellon Bâtard-Montrachet 2009

Winemaker's Notes:

"It's immediately clear from the big-bodied flavors that there is another dimension present here relative to the 1ers as there is fine power, concentration and outstanding depth on the hugely long finish. This is a seriously impressive Bâtard and while it should easily improve for up to a decade, there is so much extract that with 30 minutes of air, it could actually be enjoyed young. -Don't miss!" - burghound,.com

Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

Plush and smoky, displaying apple, butterscotch and grapefruit flavors. Tightens up and tails off a little by the finish. Approachable now. Best from 2013 through 2020. 260 cases imported. -BS Wine Spectator. A Chardonnay wine from Burgundy in France. 2009 Domaine Michel Niellon Chassagne Montrachet Chaumees 750ml

A notably ripe nose of yellow orchard fruit and soft resin notes gives way to fresh and vibrant middle weight flavors that are both rich and delicious while culminating in a mildly exotic finish that offers good density and persistence if somewhat li... Pale yellow. Deeper-pitched on the nose than the Chevalier, offering aromas of passion fruit, lemon, clove and menthol; less obviously stony. Then plump and sweet in the mouth, but with its thickness leavened by fairly strong acidity. This, too, satu... Stephen Tanzers IWC. Note: from leased vines that Niellon has exploited since 1988 and he believes that they were planted in 1939. This is perhaps the ripest wine to this point with a naturally spicy and mildly exotic yellow fruit nose that is admirably seductive and evi... Burghound. Note: from a .12 ha parcel of vines on the Chassagne side planted in 1926 and abutting one of the parcels owned by the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. Very mild reduction does not really detract from the otherwise fresh, pretty and complex spiced pear a... Burghound.
