Add your reviewDay 1) Began by splashing wine into my wine glass about 90 minutes before getting around to experiencing it. First impression on the nose was "sweat socks", followed closely by tobacco, rosehips and dirt. Reminds me a bit of a Rioja I had in Gran Canaria. The taste at this point was still quite tight, sour and oaky. This wine definitely needs at least a little short term aging. Strawberry-cherry undertones that may develop further, along with a hint of citrus on the finish. Day 2) The sweat socks have left the building! Today the nose on this wine kind of reminds me of sour candies scattered on asphalt. Definite tar, wood and dirt mixed with the fruit - rosehips. Flavor has evolved considerably. Roses, apples (with the peel), cherry and strawberry with a smoky oak finish. I feel this would be a great pairing with a savory meaty main dish. I will need to pair it with a meal before scoring it, I do like this wine . . . but its not for wine newbies!
