Jean-Nicholas Méo opined that 2002 is a very good millésime and very much like '99 in my view. At this early stage, it's difficult to say whether it's about the same, better or worse. However, it's technically similar; in fact it's so similar that they could be twins. Interestingly, there is a bit more alcohol in 2002 even though the growing season was not as warm as '99 but the extra alcohol is buffered by slightly lower pHs, which is a result of the cooler growing season. I chaptalized only two wines as sugars all came in between 13 and 14%. Yields were between 25 read more...
