after a light fining but with no filtration. For those readers who are familiar with the Ecard style, these 99s are somewhat less structured and precise. It's as though the richness of the year blurs somewhat the individuality and personality that each wine in the Ecard portfolio normally displays. To be sure, these 99s are tasty and offer good richness but they are more about the vintage than the underlying terroir, at least for the moment. The wines were tasted last November. Quite darkly colored with earthy Savigny fruit, relatively supple flavors that are laced with earth as well. This is quite rich with a trace of warmth in the long finish though the acidity is on the low side, suggesting that this will mature relatively early.
