Domaine Louis Jadot Côtes de Beaune Village Burgundy 2010

Winemaker's Notes:

"Domaine de la Douaix is a little gem of an estate. I was first wowed by their wines at their UK importer, Lea & Sandeman. It was an exciting discovery that made me feel as if I had been let in on a secret. The domaine is run by two Belgians, Mark and Gilles Moustie, who progressed from owning a Burgundy gites in the late 1990s to renting vineyards and then buying them for themselves (although they continue to supplement their small holdings with a little out-sourced fruit.) The vineyards are managed without use of pesticides (lutte raisonee), utilizing natural yeasts in the winery and using 25-40% new oak. These wines are testament to the fact that Burgundy is a treasure trove of less familiar names that are creating exquisite expressions of Pinot Noir. I finally got to meet Gilles in Burgundy during the “Grands Jours de Bourgogne” and although we only had time for quick chat, he seemed to be a young, amiable vigneron with his feet on the ground. The good news is that these wines are available both in the UK and the United States." -Neal Martin, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

It is a young and fruity wine, with aromas of red fruits, and cherries. With a delicate structure and soft tannins, it will perfectly match with light dishes (hot entrées, white and red meat in light sauce), wine sauce dishes and white cheeses (not too strong).

This is consistently one of Jadots finest wines and 2010 is no different, in fact it would appear to have even greater ultimate potential than the Musigny, which isnt always the case. The spicy, ripe and exceptionally complex nose of airy, pure and... Burghound. A Pinot Noir wine from Burgundy in France. 2010 Jadot, Louis Chambertin Clos de Beze Grand Cru 750ml

A finely perfumed wine touched with wood Beaujolais in a Burgundy style structured and with intense acidity. It is packed with firm tannins surrounded by a lively cherry and rich fruit character. - R.V. Wine Enthusiast.

Medium red. Powerfully mineral aromas of dark berries orange zest floral oils and crushed stone. The palate offers great class and lift showing superb definition to the flavors of red berries minerals and botanical herbs. This razor-sharp Chambolle finishes with terrific rising perfume. With extended time in the recorked bottle the wine showed distinctly darker berry character with captivating violet and mint high notes. A beauty. 93+ Stephen Tanzers IWC.
