Domaine les Terres Noires Vin de Pays d'Oc Syrah Rosé Frankrijk 2011

Winemaker's Notes:

Judean Hills 2011 represents the local terroir of the vineyards in Judean Hills, Israel. This wine is made from selected plots of Cabernet Sauvignon (65%), Merlot (25%) and Syrah (10%) grown on old terraces with top-soil of limestone rich in minerals.Aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, this wine has wonderful smooth texture and complex aromatic profile of dark fruit, hint of earthines amd spicy finish. The growing season of 2011 was the coolest in decades. The cool climate of this year contributed to the balanced acidity and flavors.

A classic northern Rhône blend from a renowned French family, showcasing lush Australian fruit, powerful spices and a sophisticated, clean finish. The Shiraz creates the base, with dark cherry, Dr. Pepper and black currant, while the splash of Viognier adds vibrancy and the ghost of tropical fruit. Food pairing: red meats Flavor type: fruit-forward Body type: medium-full Finish: rich

Light and distinctly peppery, with pretty berry and guava flavors that linger on the expressive finish. Drink now through 2016.

Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2011 The Lodge Hill Shiraz has lovely black berry and red cherry aromas with hints of black pepper and violets and just a touch of Provence herbs on the nose. Medium-bodied with a low to medium level of chewy tannins, it offers a nice savory character in the mouth lending interest to the bright fruits, finishing long and refreshing. Drink it now to 2017+. Vivid ruby. Dark berries and dried flowers on the spice-accented nose. Juicy and nicely focused on the palate, offering gently sweet blueberry and cherry flavors that pick up a bitter edge with air. Closes with good cut and lift, with dusty tannins giving a firm edge to the fruit.
