At Domaine LEROY, we have been cultivating our vines under biodynamic conditions since 1989. This means that our wines are free of all chemical treatments, weed killers, pesticides, fungicides, insecticides and artificial fertilizers. Instead, we have stepped back in time and use cosmic rhythms to ensure correct soil tilling and recuperation as well as effective vine care through all phases of the year's cycle.
Possibly corked (as mentioned in other reviews), but still awesome. Pleasant acidity. Red cherries. Light-medium acid. Medium tannins. Great complexity for a Bourgogne AOC. Aged fruit. $44
this is a perfect example of what pinot noir and the burgundy region are supposed to be. and because '99 was a good year in the cote d'or, this village level vintage is outstanding ! not too much fruit, not too much earth, just the right balance of fruit/terroir, acidity, freshness, and temperament. whenever i serve this to friends and family, it always gets compliments, especially from those newbies that have never tasted a real burgundy.
